Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
airoom is a product of applyai OÜ ("we", "our", "us"), a company registered in Estonia. airoom is a macOS application that shows your local Claude Code sessions as a pixel-art office, and this policy covers both the app and the airoom.dev website. Questions to hello@airoom.dev.
2. The short version
airoom runs entirely on your Mac. Your rooms, transcripts, prompts, code and everything your agents say or do stay on your machine and are never sent to us. We learn anything about you at three moments: when you download, when you buy, and when you activate. Beyond those, the app makes one anonymous request every few hours to see whether a newer build is out (section 3.5). This policy is mostly a list of those moments.
3. What we collect, and when
3.1 Visiting airoom.dev
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages matter. It sets cookies in your browser and shares usage data — pages viewed, rough location derived from your IP, browser and device type — with Google, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. No other tracking scripts.
- Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server request logs (IP address, requested path, time) for security and operations.
- The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads. That request is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
3.2 Downloading the app
- We ask for your email address when you download, and store it together with the time of your first and latest download and a download count. Your browser keeps a copy of the address so the next download does not ask again; that copy never leaves your machine.
- It is used for exactly one thing: a single follow-up email about a week later if you have not bought a licence. One email, then silence — no list, no newsletter, no drip campaign.
3.3 Buying a licence
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers.
- From Stripe we receive and store what we need to run your licence: your email address, the name on the purchase if provided, your country, and the amount paid.
- Your licence key is emailed to you via Resend, our email delivery provider.
3.4 Activating the app
- When you enter your key, the app contacts our licence server once and sends your email, the key, and an anonymised device identifier so we can enforce the three-machine limit. On subscriptions the app occasionally repeats this call to renew its signed licence token.
- Apart from the update check in 3.5, that is the only conversation the app has with us. There is no telemetry, no usage analytics, and no crash reporting. After activation the licence is verified offline, on your machine.
3.5 Checking for updates
- Shortly after it starts, and then every six hours, the app fetches a small public file from airoom.dev that lists the current version and, occasionally, a short announcement, so it can tell you when a new build is out. It is a plain request for a public file: no key, no email, no device identifier and no version number travel with it. Our hosting provider logs it like any other page view (see 3.1).
- To switch it off, start airoom with
AIROOM_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1in your environment. The app then never contacts airoom.dev on its own.
4. What we never see
Your projects, rooms, transcripts, chats with agents, approvals, code and files. All of it stays on your Mac. Your agents talk to Anthropic through your own Claude Code installation under your own account — that traffic does not pass through us and is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
5. Services we rely on
- Stripe — payment processing. Privacy policy.
- Resend — sending licence and trial emails. Privacy policy.
- Railway — hosting for this website, our licence service and its database. Privacy policy.
- Google Analytics — visit statistics for this website. Privacy policy.
These providers process data on our behalf and under their own safeguards; we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
6. How long we keep things
- Licence records: for as long as the licence exists, plus what bookkeeping law requires.
- Download records: until they have served their one purpose, after which they are just a row we no longer need — ask and we delete it.
- Server logs: short-lived and rotated by our hosting provider.
7. Your rights
applyai OÜ is an EU company, so the GDPR applies to everyone we hold data about. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to a supervisory authority (in Estonia, the Data Protection Inspectorate — or the authority where you live). Our lawful bases are: performing our contract with you (delivering downloads, licences and activation), legitimate interest (the single trial follow-up email and fraud prevention), and legal obligation (accounting). California residents: we do not sell personal information, yours included.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@airoom.dev — deleting a licence record ends the licence, so we will confirm before doing it.
8. Children
airoom is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting more than this page says.
